The Avengers

Criminals in Cleveland beware! Not only are the city’s police officers on duty, but they have some extra help from Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and the rest of the Avengers. Several scenes in the Avengers 2012 movie was filmed in Cleveland. Production took place in the northeast Ohio city for about a month, brought more than $25 million to the Ohio area, provided approximately 4,000 temporary jobs, and caused numerous panic attacks to office employees working downtown during explosion scenes.

Several city landmarks are displayed including Cleveland’s East 9th Street, used for the concluding battle scene.

The combat also included 25 soldiers from the Columbus, Ohio based 391st Military Police Battalion to add realism to the scene. Filming also took place at the NASA Plum Brook Station in Sandusky to serve as the S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters.
