The Drew Carey Show not only provided comedic relief but had the whole country chanting “Cleveland Rocks!” The ABC sitcom featured Cleveland-native Drew Carey and the daily activities surrounding his friends and colleagues. The show is primarily filmed at the Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, California however there are several scenes filmed in Cleveland. The most identifiable filming locations are within the the opening credits which include the Halle Building, Jacobs Field, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Shooters, and the Main Avenue Bridge. During the opening sequence, the cast covers Ian Hunter’s song, “Cleveland Rocks” which has become synonymous with the Drew Carey Show. Boxes of Antonio’s Pizza and local ice cream brand Pierre’s Ice Cream Co. also make appearances on the show. The Warsaw Tavern, the bar that the gang frequents is actually named the Memphis Plaza Lounge and is found in Cleveland’s Old Brooklyn neighborhood.
