It’s only appropriate that the Dublin Irish Festival’s motto is “like Ireland, except smaller”. It may be smaller, but not by that much. With over 100,000 attendees each year, the Dublin Irish Festival is considered to be one of the largest Celtic celebrations in the United States. The three-day event which takes place the first weekend each August attracts some of the top Irish bands in the world. In total, there are 65 acts and over 540 performers on 7 different entertainment stages. The festival includes more than just music and entertainment. The event also includes a demonstration of the traditional Celtic games, beverage tastings, a 5k run/walk, and other cultural activities. In 2007, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the event, the City of Dublin organized the world’s largest Irish jig at the festival. It included 10,036 participants and is featured in the Guinness Book of World Records. So, get your kilt out of the closet, grab a Guinness, and be a part of one of Ohio’s largest festivals.
