The Newport Music Hall in Columbus has withstood years of rocking and rolling. It is considered to be the longest running rock venue in the United States. Since opening its doors in 1923, Newport has hosted decades of rock and roll legends. Talents to have been featured at Newport include Neil Young, James Brown, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Ramones, Foo Fighters, B.B. King, and many more. Originally, the Newport Music Hall was established as a movie theater. However, in the 1970′s it was converted into the Agora Ballroom and has remained a music venue ever since. The venue seats around 2,000 and hosts approximately 150,000 music fans each year.
