The Ohio State School for the Blind Marching Band

Script Ohio is recognized as one of the greatest traditions in college sports. While consistency within traditions is always important, there is one “twist” on Script Ohio that may be even more special and unique. The Ohio State School for the Blind Marching Band performs a formation known as “Script Braille Ohio”. Similar to the Ohio State University tradition, the Ohio State School for the Blind Marching Band spells “O-H-I-O” to the tune of Le Regiment however it’s in braille . The Ohio State School for the Blind Marching Band is the only blind marching band in the world. In 2010, the group marched in the Rose Bowl Parade and in 2013 they joined together with the Ohio State Marching Band to perform a dual Script Ohio. Individuals come from all over the state to Columbus to be a part of the program. It takes 12 members (with the help of assistants) to form Script Braille Ohio. And, yes there are sousaphone players to dot the i.
