It’s appropriate that the state which is home to the most U.S. Presidents is hosting the 2013 President’s Cup. One of golf’s most prestigious competitions this year is being held at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. The President’s Cup is one of the only team competitions on the PGA Tour in which 12 United States representatives square off against 12 members on the International squad (excluding Europeans). The tournament is held biannually on odd numbered years with the Ryder Cup occurring around the same time on even numbered years. Muirfield is only the 3rd golf course in the United States to host the event. The tournament is somewhat unconventional compared to other PGA tournaments in that various match formats such as “Best Ball“, “Alternate Shot“, and “Singles Match Play” are featured in the four day event. Some of golf’s most elite will be seen competing including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, and Matt Kuchar. The 2013 President’s Cup matches will be played from October 3rd-6th.
