If you are a hosting a large Thanksgiving dinner and need a massive quantity of pie that even Costco can’t fulfill, travel to New Bremen, home to the world’s largest pumpkin pie. The pumpkin pie was constructed in September of 2012 for the New Bremen Pumpkinfest. The pie weighed in at 3,699 pounds and was 20 feet in diameter. The recipe called for 1,212 lbs of canned pumpkin, 2,796 eggs (233 dozen), 109 gallons of evaporated milk, 525 pounds of sugar, 7 pounds of salt and 14.5 pounds of cinnamon. The accomplishment was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. After the record had been obtained, the pie was cut into 5,000 slices and served to the hungry crowd. New Bremen had shattered their previous record, a 2,020 pound pie made in 2005.
